Air BP is one of the world’s largest aviation fuel suppliers and currently sells over seven billion gallons of aviation fuel a year. Air BP services are available at over 1,000 airport locations in 70 countries and serve airlines, commercial aviation and general aviation.
Launching the Air BP fuel app
We were approached by aviation services company, RocketRoute to launch the first stage of their new app, RocketRoute Fuel, created with support from Air BP. This new app allows private jet owners and professional pilots to request fuel prior to landing at specific locations. This campaign worked across our various departments incorporating a marketing launch, development work and design activity.
Alongside our marketing team, we held a series of workshops to establish the core messages, key design and branding as well as tone of voice to market the new app. Launching the campaign, we considered the various touch points to interact with the general aviation industry, and material was planned and designed around this.
After the success of the first stage, we were then asked to launch the second stage of the app, RocketRoute MarketPlace, which enhanced the offering into the various services that professional pilots need when planning their journeys.
Designs included ticket wallets for fuel invoices, digital landing pages, direct mail, digital and traditional display advertising as well as interactive point-of-sale stands with screens featuring a live app for pilots to trial in airport lounges. The work also included informative printed materials for Air BP ground staff to read, understand and promote the benefits of the app to fuel customers. Everything we created for RocketRoute and Air BP was designed to encourage registration to the new app.
In 2017, we designed, printed and organised fulfilment of over 250,000 pieces of point of sale material to Air BP airport locations worldwide.
